Privacy policy

Moemedi Michael Poncana, an individual operating under the Monexus Media brand (“we,” “us,” “our”), is the data controller for themonexus.com and terminal.themonexus.com. This policy explains what we collect, why, with whom we share it, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).

Information we collect

  • Usage data. Pages viewed, referrers, approximate location (country/region), device and browser type, and interaction events.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. See our cookie policy for details on each category we deploy.
  • Membership data. The Terminal membership service processes checkout details and issues a signed browser token used to check entitlement on this site.
  • Payments and API access. Order references, processor confirmations, tier and entitlement records, API keys, request counts, wallet addresses, public transaction signatures and settlement status. Public blockchain records are permanent and may be visible to anyone.
  • Security and server logs. IP address, timestamp, requested URL, client or browser type, response status, rate-limit events and suspected abuse signals.
  • Communications. Messages you send to editorial or support inboxes.

Legal bases

We process account, payment and entitlement data to perform a contract or take requested pre-contract steps. We process security, service-reliability, fraud-prevention and limited audience data for our legitimate operational interests, balanced against visitor rights. We process records where required by tax, accounting, consumer-protection or other law. Optional advertising, measurement and non-essential storage rely on consent where the law requires it; consent can be withdrawn without affecting earlier lawful processing.

How we use it

  • To deliver, secure, and improve the site and terminal.
  • To measure audience engagement and understand which stories resonate.
  • To serve advertising, if it is introduced, under the choices described above.
  • To comply with legal obligations and defend against abuse.

Advertising partners

The Monexus currently shows no third-party advertising. If advertising is introduced, it would be served through Google AdSense, and Google and its partners would then use cookies and similar technologies, subject to your consent choices where the law requires them. Declining non-essential storage keeps those technologies off.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. California residents may opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information.

Under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you may also request access to or correction of your personal information, object to processing in applicable circumstances, request deletion where retention is no longer authorised, and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator South Africa.

Data retention

We retain personal data only as long as required for the purpose for which it was collected, security, dispute handling, or a legal obligation. Operational and security logs are scheduled for deletion or aggregation within 90 days unless an incident requires longer preservation. Support and privacy correspondence is retained for up to 24 months after the matter is closed. Transaction and billing records are retained for the period required by tax, accounting and consumer-protection law. Membership entitlements are retained while active and then only for support, dispute and legal-record purposes.

Processors and international transfers

The service may use contracted providers for hosting and content delivery, payment processing, email delivery, security, and—only when activated with the required consent—advertising or audience measurement. PayFast processes checkout information; the site does not claim to store full payment-card details. These providers may process data outside South Africa or the visitor's country. We use contractual, legal and security safeguards appropriate to the transfer and will disclose material provider changes in this policy.

Automated access decisions

Rate limits, payment verification and anti-abuse controls may automatically allow, delay or deny a request. These decisions govern access to the service; they are not used to make employment, credit, insurance or similarly significant personal decisions. Children

The Monexus is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
